The Rolex Explorer II is one of Rolex’s sports watches. Initially manufactured in 1972 the Rolex Explorer II has benefited from more than 30 years of modification and enhancement. The Explorer is renowned for its classic black dial and steel combination. Like all the current production models in the Rolex Oyster range, the Rolex Explorer II is powered by a self-winding Rolex movement. Each movement has 100 points of contact with proprietary lubricants to ensure reliable performance.
The Rolex Explorer II features a 24 hour bezel and hand. The Fixed stainless steel matte finished 24 hour bezel enables the owner the use of a dual time function with the independently adjustable 12 hour hand for simultaneous use of a second time zone.
The Oyster Perpetual Chronometer Movement shares the same ideals as Rolex’s high-precision mechanism. The character of Rolex is evident throughout the world and worn daily by millions of proud people. With only a small movement of the wrist the rotor winds the watch automatically. Being a Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified the watch has demonstrated extreme precision in a variety of temperature and positions.
The patented and equally famous Rolex Oyster Case houses the movement and shields it against shock, pressure, dust and any moisture entering the watch. The case is shaped from a super alloy and is very durable and highly polishable. Protecting the movement is the patented Rolex Twin lock winding crown, Fitted with the Rolex Oyster bracelet the owner enjoys a smooth and secure fit yet and is confident with Rolex's superior build quality. Rolex bracelets may have in excess of 100 moving parts, invisible to naked eye. This superior craftsmanship and fine finishing earn it the right to be called a Rolex bracelet.
This watch can be worn in any environment and its great acclaim makes it easily recognizable around the world. The Rolex Explorer II is available in both black and white dials.
