Omega is one of the most highly esteemed luxury watch brands who are famed for combining elegance with timekeeping precision. Omega has produced iconic watches over its 150-year history. Omega was first established in 1885, 3 years prior to T H Baker; the Swiss company produced its first automatic / manual pocket watch.
Omega was the first company to be entrusted with the official timekeeping of all disciplines at the Los Angeles Games in 1932 using chronographs and stop-watches developed by its subsidiary Lémania. OMEGA's association with the Olympic Games led to well over half a century of pioneering developments in the field of sports time keeping.
Omega has four main models in its product line. The most prominent are the "Speedmaster" and "Seamaster" lines. Both are sporty and rugged watches and this motif appealed to a wide range of people. The other two models include the "Constellation" and "Deville" series.
Omega was founded in 1848 and in 1931 gained international prominence when it was selected to be the official time-keeper of the Olympic Games in Los Angeles. In 1969 Omegas brand rose to new heights of celebrity as the "Speedmaster" becomes the first watch to be worn on the moon. Since then, through its many affiliations with sports stars (Anna Kournikova, Ernie Els, Michael Schumaker) celebrities (Cindy Crawford) and cultural icons (James Bond), Omega has continued to be one of the most popular brands in the world. |
